physician   physiatrist training To become a physiatrist, individuals must successfully complete four years of medical school followed by four years of specialty (residency) training.

Physiatrists enter into 4-years of Residency training after receiving a medical degree. Their medical degree is as a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Medical Doctor (MD).

Dr. Valleroy completed her medical degree at the University of Texas health Science Center; she completed her residency at the University of Washington. Dr. Valleroy is also the Medical Director of horticultural therapy and Associate Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Institute of Oregon for the Legacy Health System.
